HTC Hero apps...
Playing with the HTC Hero phone, I've found some interesting apps that take advantage of the phone's features. It's location aware, it has all kinds of data connections and is very open for developers to write apps. Here are two of the best.
First app is locale. It uses assisted GPS or GPS alone to work out where you are and change settings based on rules you've set up. Example, you don't want your phone to ring loudly at work, set work as a location and set the rule, you can have it turn wifi or bluetooth on/off pretty much anything. http://www.twofortyfouram.com/
Second app is android-sms, this app will copy every sms message you recieve to your Gmail, tag it as SMS and skip the Inbox, this is good if you loose your phone or need to reset it. Sms is the only messaging on the phone that isn't held by a server so this makes so much sense. http://code.google.com/p/android-sms/

I've been playing with Spotify for a while now, but found Grooveshark to be really useful for sending a url to people, no software needed no login, perfect for FaceBook.

The Bicycle, BBC Docco
I just watched this docco about the bicycle, it was very nice to hear the bit at the end of the prog...
"There is no doubt that the car age is coming to an end, what are we going to do when we are not allowed to get in our car or cant afford to get in our car, we can walk or we can bicycle, the bicycle will always be there, long after the car is dead and burried".
The blurb on iPlayer goes like this...

Strangest spam I've ever had!
Ok, I don't get much in the way of spam, I'm not slutty with my email address, but this was forwarded to me and I had to share.
I've never had conspiricy theory spam before, with a real link to the No. 10 website for a petition. It's quite refreshing. Enjoy :D

OSX 10.5.7 update on Dell Mini 9
I have OSX installed on my Dell Mini 9, all was going well until last night when I installed the 10.5.7 update, after the reboot my graphics were corrupted with white snow.
After a bit of thought I decided to reinstall the DellEFI update so I used the -x option to boot OSX into safe mode, downloaded the latest DellEFI, chose the Easy install option, then rebooted and all was fine. I just needed to reinstall Aboutthismac.pkg to get the system info correct.
Oh and my HDD name had corrupted so I changed it back to 'Hackintosh HD'. The first thing I've noticed about 10.5.7 is the boot options menu is now a gui!

Time to share my epic joke, ok not mine but one of the few I don't forget...
